Grinding by hand is a surefire way to make sure you control every aspect of your perfect cup. If you want to grind on the road (literally or figuratively) this provides a way to have amazing fresh ground coffee completely off grid, as long as you remember to actually pack it. Grinding fresh right before brewing is one of the simplest ways to improve the taste of your coffee.
